User Ratings and Reviews

1 Star Fun little scanner ruined by bad customer service.
It has the potential to be a useful, though not professional quality scanner. The big downfall is support from Ion I tried 5 times to get an email response from them to no avail. I’ve called them twice and was told there would be a 20 minute wait. After twenty minutes I was switched to another line and told there would be another 20 minute wait. I would not recommend this or any other Ion products because of the total lack of regard they have for their customers.

2 Stars Poor Pull
If you are intending to scan slides to doctor them up in Photoshop then you have the wrong scanner. Dark and white areas will come to your computer in bad shape and there is nothing you can do to fix it. If the slide picture is perfect you get a reasonable copy but this devise is not for quality reproduction.

5 Stars Item Works Really Well!
The converter works really well. It has easy to follow directions. The slides and negatives look sharp when viewed on the computer. Shipping was fast. It was here with in 3-4 days. I have enjoyed using it.

3 Stars overall decent results
I used this item to convert 1500 slides for my parents. Once I got up the learning curve, I could average 70 an hour. You must dust off each slide individually or you will be unhappy because every speck will show. If there was a way to adjust the amount of back light, results would be better but I suspect that will be a feature in the next generation of these things. When the original lighting of the slides was “perfect” the digitized version was excellent, if the slides were light the image all but disappeared and if the slides were dark all you got was a dark blob. Luckily most of my parents’ slides were OK and I got some excellent results and was able to make copies for my siblings and create a slide show for my parents on their new computer. At this price point, a great way to save and share family memories.

1 Star A total disaster
I could not be more displeased with Amazon.com and it’s customer service department! I ordered a $100 Christmas present for my brother two weeks before the holiday and promptly received two confirmations that the order (a 35mm slide digitizer) had been received and the order had been actually shipped 12 days before the holiday. Then, on Dec. 23, I received an email from Amazon.com that the product had not been shipped and they would rebate my $[...]. No reason was given. I was extremely upset because in my family the adults give a present to only one other adult, saving our holiday budgets so we can get something for each of the children. This meant my brother would not get anything at all and be the only person without a present when we gathered Christmas night for our family celebration! When I called Amazon.com Dec. 23, I was given no reason for any of the mistakes, nor would Amazon made good on shipping the order from another supplier! The customer service rep was polite but not helpful, so I asked to escalate the issue to a supervisor. He was obstinate and would not ship the product from an alternate Amazon partner (Target) at Amazon’s expense. He refused any workarounds to the problem, citing Amazon “policy.” He then refused to let me speak with his supervisor, saying he did not have a supervisor(he was not Mr. Bezos)! When I asked him to close out my account and returned my remaining account balance from an earlier gift certificate, he refused to do that as well. Just one more case of a company with a good idea getting so large they lose sight of their customers because of all their big-company policies.
